It was a wonderful privilege to visit SIL Bible Translators at work in Vanuatu. It was also a great privilege to take part in the launch of the Lewo language New Testament in Port Vila. This is the end of more than 10 years labour to bring God’s word into that language. However, it is only part of the journey to help that tribal group to mature and grow in their faith. The gospel needs to be read by the people and owned by them. Literacy work in that language needs to take place and people need to treasure God’s word in their hearts. | Rebecca’s operation went well and for the next 6 weeks she will be recovering from it. The final documents requested for her citizenship are now with the French Consulate. Thank you for praying for these things. The church in New Caledonia called me to be their pastor. I have accepted the call and we will be planning to move to Noumea early in 2018. We would welcome your prayers as there is a lot to do before then. I need to complete my studies, think about the transition for the French service in Sydney as well as find the spiritual oversight and financial support for our ministry in Noumea. |
